Container ship attacked off Guinea

A maritime security alert has been issued for the waters off Guinea, after a Germany-flagged container ship, OLIVIA was attacked in position 09:13.9N – 013:47.4W, around 22NM southwest of Conakry at 0355 local time on 15 July.

ReCAAP – Half Yearly Report

The ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre posted its Half Yearly Report, covering the period January-June 2012.  Reports of acts of piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia during this period are fewer than those reported during the same periods in 2010 and 2011.  In addition, the incidents have generally been less severe than previous years.
