Overloaded with a cargo of salt and disabled in heavy seas the 280 tonne deadweight Cap Blanc capsized off Canada’s Burin Peninsula at around 2025 local time.  Her up-turned is found floating at 1054 the next morning, with survivors trapped inside. At 1408 the hull sinks, taking the survivors with it to the bottom 130 metres below.


Three of the four crew, a master, chief officer and two ABs were later recovered.
